Secca del Toro lies about 700 m east of Toro Island, part of the Cerbical Islands approximately 10 miles from Porto-Vecchio. The site consists of two relatively flat rocky formations, one rising to around 3 m and the other to approximately 4 m, separated by about 50 m. The maximum depth is around 35 m. Visibility is almost always exceptional, creating an impressive underwater landscape. Exploration is concentrated mainly along the northern and western sides of the shoal, where numerous openings provide shelter for abundant groupers, moray eels, European lobsters, brown meagre and dentex. The northern section is also enriched by dense red gorgonians and a resident school of large barracuda.
